75th jibilee of the Faculty of Physics

In 2008 Faculty of Physics, M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University celebrates its 75th jubilee.The respective jubilee events will be arranged on October 24th, 2008, at the Intellectual Center — Fundamental Library. The program includes an official meeting with the following concert (started at 3pm in the grand hall).

Attention! All jibilee events that have been planned initially on 17th of October are shifted to the 24th of October for technical reasons.

Faculty of Physics Nowadays

Since 1933, the Faculty of Physics, Lomonosov Moscow State University, educated over 25000 physicists of which over 4000 defended their PhD and over 4000 their Dr. Sci. degrees at th Faculty of Physics.

Every third member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the field of Physics, Geophysics, and Astronomy is the Faculty's graduate.

Researchers working with the Faculty made lots of discoveries in Physics. 8 Nobel laureates used either to be the graduates and/or professors at the Faculty of Physics, 38 professors of the Faculty were awarded with the Lenin Prize in Science, 170 and 70 professors were awarded with the State award and Lomonosov award, respectively.
